We're raising money for the Isle of Wight Branch of the MND Association
Keeping you updated
As the year draws to a close it can be a time for reflection as much as looking to the future – and we certainly have food for thought! Reasons to be cheerful can always be found though and, as you know, planning is the key to financial success.
Throughout the year we have also tried to spread light where we can and have continued our support of local charities alongside our headline charity, the Isle of Wight Branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Funding so far has enabled the Isle of Wight branch to support Island people living with MND, and their families, with a range of opportunities to help improve quality of life.
The best way to illustrate this is to hear from the people who have benefitted:
‘The taxi scheme that is running allows me, my carer and my family to travel throughout the Island for medical appointments or leisure without the worry of financial outlay.’
‘The greatest benefit to me is to realise people do care and I feel that I am coming into the light and warmth again after such a horrid dark period.’
‘Please can you send my thanks to the providers of the funding which enables me to spend some lovely time with my family.’
‘In a time that can be overwhelming for both the person living with MND and their family and friends, it is a shining light to be able to enjoy things with your family.’
‘It was good to see a good crowd turn up to enjoy. It was a joy to see the bears, Barney and Balou. We had nice weather and everywhere is not too far to walk and reasonably level. Thank you for organising it.’
‘It’s an amazing opportunity given to us all through the generosity of funding, without which we could not have made these wonderful memories.’
‘The days out are a great opportunity to meet other families going through the same journey’.
‘The money is very welcome. It will go towards a log burner for our lounge which I know will give me real pleasure from both visually enjoying the flames and physically with the warmth.’
