The heart of our business
We are based on the Isle of Wight in the heart of the UK’s south coast. Our clients come from all over the UK and from all sections of the financial spectrum. By working closely with our clients, we try to understand not only their current financial situation but also to help them identify their financial goals. Reach your financial goals
As well as developing our qualifications, we maintain our research into financial markets and opportunities. A key part of building a robust financial plan is the use of Lifetime Cash Flow Forecasting. This allows us to work with clients to build their goals into their financial plan, as well as testing it under various scenarios. By applying various ‘what if’ scenarios to a client’s cash flow forecast we can see the likely future impact of financial decisions made today.
We hope that our skill, training and expertise, along with our relaxed environment, will help you to feel that Rouse Limited is the best partner to support your financial future and investment portfolio. Call us today on 01983 535740 and take your first step to a clear financial future.

Ben Rouse
CFP™ Chartered Fellow APFS
CHARTERED FINANCIAL PLANNER
Chartered Wealth Manager
Ben started working in financial planning in 1989, founding Rouse and Co in 1992 and incorporating as Rouse Limited in 1999. He is committed to helping as many people as possible to realise the value of financial planning for life.
It’s been said that Ben took the scenic route to career success. Prior to becoming a Financial Planner, he worked as a dispatch rider in London, followed by a stint in the wine trade before opening and running Benedict’s Fine Wines and Delicatessen with his father, Malcolm Rouse. He then discovered the career he loves – helping people with their finances.
Ben also has a passion for motorbikes and can occasionally be spotted enjoying a ride out with his sons through the glorious Island countryside, or on the mainland when he visits clients and family. He lives in Ventnor with his wife, Lia, and has five grown up children.
He held office as High Sheriff of the Isle of Wight 2017/18.

Chartered Wealth Manager
Andrew is a Director and one of our experienced Financial Planners. He has over 25 years’ experience in financial planning behind him.
Andrew’s first taste of working life was varied: from American vacuum cleaner selling to working on the beers, wines and spirits department at the then newly opened Bagshot Road Sainsbury’s whilst at college in Berkshire. He finds working with his financial clients much more to his taste.
Being passionate about financial planning and simply understanding money, the phrases ‘spend half, save half’ and ‘no one plans to fail, but many fail to plan’ are often heard in his household.
During his well-earned time off Andrew likes to spend his time with friends and family, being at the beach and watching/playing his favourite sports, rugby and cricket. He can also be seen most Sundays coaching the next generation of rugby players, not just in the sport of rugby, but the belief in teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship.
Andrew’s life goal is to travel as much of the world as possible, preferably whilst fit enough to take part in challenging activities such as white water rafting, rock climbing and his other passion, skiing! In another life Andrew sees himself as the next Michael Palin. He’s already pulled off the feat of travelling around the world, including Thailand, Australia, New Zealand and America with his wife and two children. He looks forward to more of these adventures over the coming years, after all, life is for living!

CHARTERED FINANCIAL PLANNER
Chartered Wealth Manager
Ben joined Rouse Limited in the Spring of 2003. He is a Director and heads our Investment Committee, overseeing all investment decisions and recommendations made to clients.
Ben previously worked for one of the high street banks, where he calculated compensation for customers who had been mis-sold personal pensions. This role not only gave Ben the opportunity to gain specialist pensions knowledge but also highlighted to him how consumer had been poorly treated in the past. With this appointment shaping his morals and ethics Ben rejected a number of job opportunities with businesses that did not match up to his own personal views. That was until Rouse Limited came along with an offer; Ben could see that this firm had the same high ethical standards that he held and of course this continues to be the case today.
Ben believes that his sporting past has helped develop a number of skills necessary to succeed in the financial services industry – with the determination to continue to improve through hard work and data analysis the key contributor. Although weekends are no longer spent chasing balls around courts and pitches, Ben endeavours to stay fit by clocking up the miles on his bike. And the Isle of Wight provides a perfect back drop of challenging hills and unrivalled landscapes.
Ben hopes that his two sons will share his love of sport and whether it’s coaching them how to forward roll, shoot a basketball, catch an American Football or put top spin on a tennis ball the early signs are promising.

Lisa Butler
Operations Director
Lisa is our Operations Director. She is our lynchpin and is responsible for overseeing many of our daily activities, directing and co-ordinating actions across all areas of the business.
She has been working at Rouse Limited since 1999, but before that she had a number of roles working in shipbuilding and local government.
Her fondest memory of the shipbuilding trade was ordering and packaging all of the equipment and materials that were needed to build the first Wightlink catamarans, shipping them off to Australia where the boat was to be built, and seeing them sail back up the Solent as a completed vessel.
Lisa’s favourite place on the Isle of Wight is Priory Bay, on the east coast – she has wonderful childhood memories there. Lisa is married with two children – her son is a professional footballer and her daughter plays competitive netball and she loves watching them both play.
Matt Jones
CFP™ APP Chartered Fellow (Financial Planning)
CHARTERED FINANCIAL PLANNER
Matt is a Financial Planner. With his work in schools and for charities, as well for Rouse Limited clients, Matt helps people with their financial planning through all life stages.
After searching for a long time to find an activity to replace the rugby he played in his younger years, Matt has accidently become a runner. Much to his surprise, he can often be found at parkrun, jogging around the Island footpaths with the Godshill Massive running group and has even managed a few marathons.
Matt loves snow. He particularly loves snowy Christmases and he and his family regularly spend it in Lapland. He and his family are also keen campers (not in the snow though!) and enjoy long weekends in the summer around the Island’s campsites. Particular favourites are Nodes Point, for the views, and Adgestone, for the lovely outdoor pool and great family atmosphere. He hopes that when they get better at it they will venture further afield and he hopes that one day they will upgrade to a motorhome for UK and European adventures.
In fact, Matt enjoys many things: working and relaxing in the garden, walking in the countryside spotting the wildlife, but mostly he just enjoys spending time with his family.

Vicky Curtis
DipPFS Cert CII (MP)
Financial Adviser
Vicky is a Financial Adviser. She ensures that the advice given to our clients remains in line with their objectives.
Vicky’s journey through financial services – as a financial consultant, a mortgage adviser, and experience in banking – means her range of skills in this sector is extensive, as are her client-facing skills.
She takes her professional life seriously and is a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) but, with two teenage daughters, her personal life is precious to her too.
When her time is her own Vicky likes to spend time developing her photography skills, but she also likes to take it really easy sometimes and enjoys spa days and cocktails with friends.
Vicky’s favourite part of the Island is the east side, for the lovely beaches. In another life she says she would like to be lounging on the deck of a superyacht. Right now though we’re happy her focus is on her work!

Paul McDine
Senior Account Administrator
Paul is a Senior Account Administrator. His detailed knowledge of the administration of client business means he is able to resolve any issues speedily. He’s been working at Rouse Limited since 2000 and is looking forward to his long service award.
Having previously worked in a bar, Paul is obviously a sociable and versatile person who takes his relaxation seriously and enjoys reminding himself of his previous professional work by sampling the excellent restaurants on the Isle of Wight with his friends.
Not a player of sport, but an avid watcher of it, he tries to make an annual pilgrimage to Wimbledon every summer. He also loves being in the countryside on the Isle of Wight, particularly the upper reaches of the Medina Valley which are a little known and beautiful part of our environment.
Paul’s life goal is to retire early enough to still enjoy life, and to then have the luxury to decide what to do with it.
Jenni Le Mon
Administrative Assistant
Jenni is an Administrative Assistant. She has been at Rouse Limited since March 2008 and, as an experienced Administrator, provides valuable support to our team of Account Administrators and Advisers.
Prior to working in financial services, Jenni worked in the HR department at Safeway, taking responsibility for recruitment but also, importantly, acquiring a great understanding of all the different areas of retail work.
Outside work, Jenni likes to spend her time, summer or winter, visiting one of the Isle of Wight’s 13 award-winning beaches and keeping fit and healthy through regular Spinning classes.
Sara Reed
CeMAP Cert CII (ER)
Property Finance and Client Support Officer
Sara is our Property Finance and Client Support Officer. As well as guiding clients through the mortgage and equity release maze, she will also help you get all your financial affairs in order and be available should you need later life, or bereavement, support and advice.
Sara’s career path has led from reception work for a firm of London-based solicitors via the corporate ladder in retail banking to being a branch manager for TSB. She holds the Mortgage Advice Qualification and the Certificate in Mortgage Advice, along with the Certificate in Retail Banking Conduct of Business. She has a wealth of hands-on experience gained through more than 30 years’ work in the financial services sector. So, whether it’s mortgage and protection advice, Equity Release advice, or guidance on how to get mortgage ready, her knowledge and experience is invaluable in today’s complex mortgage market.
Sara always applies a professional but friendly approach to her roles and customer service is paramount to her work ethic. It is her friendly and competent manner that will come to the fore should you have had a bereavement and have no idea where to start with sorting out the affairs of your loved one. Working in association with our Vulnerable Client Champion, Sara’s focus is also client safeguarding.
An energetic soul, Sara likes nothing more than a refreshing swim, relaxing yoga, or perhaps a bracing walk in the south of the Island around Ventnor and Bonchurch. Another of her favourite spots is the enigmatic Steephill Cove where, she says, looking out to sea you can imagine yourself anywhere in the world.
But she’s not content with armchair travelling: looking to the future she sees herself discovering the delights the UK has to offer before perhaps heading further afield.
Sara’s caring side clearly runs deep as in another life she thinks she might have been a counsellor, helping people to find their path again. In this life we’re very happy that she’s on our team here at Rouse where we help clients every step of the way.

Jamie Franklin
Administrative Assistant
Jamie is an Administrative Assistant. She provides valuable support to our team of Account Administrators and Advisers.
Her attention to detail, ability to organise and prioritise, along with people skills, are all invaluable in her role as a member of the administration team.
Jamie is very definitely committed to professional development, having previously gained the NCFE level 3 Certificate in Principles of Business and Administration – and she shows no sign of stopping on her journey to add to her professional skill set.
But Jamie takes a measured view of the wider picture and understands the need for a good work/life balance – a view we try to encourage and maintain here at Rouse. She values friendship and one of her favourite ways to relax is going out with friends for drinks and a meal.
She says in another life she’d be living the dream on a beach, somewhere hot. The Island is in her heart though and her favourite place here is Gurnard beach.
Right now though her focus is on developing her skills to help improve the service Rouse provides – even if the beach is calling.
Louise Hunt
DipFA AwPETR
Operations Manager
Louise is our Operations Manager. With her analytical, strategic approach, and supervising skills, she ensures the smooth function of all our processes.
Louise previously worked within Fidelity’s Retirement Service as an adviser. She has extensive experience in this area particularly with safeguarded benefit transfers and the Lifetime Allowance. She holds the Diploma for Financial Advisers, the Certificate for Financial Advisers, a Level 6 award in pension transfers and is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI). So, we know we‘re in safe hands.
Louise has no intention of letting things slip either: in ten years’ time she fully intends to be continuing to support the Rouse team in delivering the best possible service for our clients and ensuring we remain at the forefront of financial planning.
This is also apparent in her choice of spare time activities. Once again the team at Rouse can boast a sporty member. Not only is Louise a keen runner, she also tap dances every week, enjoys swimming and tries to get out cycling as much as possible. When she needs a rest from all that she enjoys spending time with her family, and travelling.
Louise’s favourite place on the Island is Colwell Bay, the place where she first fell in love with the Island, having spent many happy childhood holidays there.
In another life she says she would be travelling the world with no fixed abode. We’re happy that in this life we can benefit from her extensive experience and enthusiasm for her job.

Georgia Whittle
Paraplanner
Georgia is a Paraplanner. Having progressed from Client Liaison to Account Administrator she is taking strides on her professional journey to further develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours of a successful Paraplanner.
Before joining Rouse, Georgia developed her customer-care skills at the Hambrough Hotel in Ventnor, so she knows a thing or two about ensuring people are well looked after.
The Rouse team tends to attract, and encourage, the sporty types and Georgia keeps that going as a member of the Isle of Wight Hockey Team. No doubt the element of danger in playing a sport like hockey helps her to remain alert to the needs of all our visitors.
Georgia’s favourite place on the Island is Ventnor, the town where she grew up. It’s known that Ventnor has its own micro-climate and can sometimes enjoy more hours of sunshine than other places on the south coast. This must have stimulated her quest for even more sunshine as in ten years’ time she sees herself ‘somewhere hot’. And she obviously harbours the wanderlust as in another life she says she would be travelling or working abroad.
When not dashing around a pitch or engaging in other sporty activities, in her spare time she also enjoys relaxing with friends and family. This balance of action and relaxation fits well with our ethos of balance in all aspects of life at Rouse.

Jade Ragsdale
Administrative Assistant
Jade is an Administrative Assistant. She provides valuable support to our team of Account Administrators and Advisers.
Jade has several years’ experience in the financial services industry having previously worked at Fidelity. In the heavily regulated and demanding world of financial advice it’s vital that the Financial Planners have solid administrative support. A team player, Jade’s experience in this field means that our advisers can rely on her.
But everyone needs a release from the pressure sometimes and Jade does this by running and listening to music – another sporty person in the team.
She says her favourite place on the Island is Compton Bay and with its vast beach and expansive view, who can blame her? Jade also says that in another life she would like to be travelling the world – no doubt hunting for that perfect beach and warm sun. However, for now she is a vital and enthusiastic part of our team, come rain or shine.
Mark Holland-Washington
DipFA CeMAP
Paraplanner
Mark is a Paraplanner. He provides support to the Financial Planners with product and advice research, and report writing.
Mark has almost two decades’ experience in financial services having developed his skills as a mortgage adviser and having latterly worked at Fidelity. His experience is complemented by his qualifications, which are the Certificate in Mortgage Advice & Practice (CeMAP) and the Diploma for Financial Advisers (DipFA), and he is also a member of the London Institute of Banking and Finance. So we know we have another sound and safe pair of hands in the team.
An outdoor type, in his spare time Mark enjoys being with his wife. He owns two dogs: a Siberian Husky named Luna and a Pembrokeshire Corgi who is aptly called Queenie. Yaverland is his favourite place on the Island and he likes to take the dogs into the sea there. But he’s also a keen DIY-er so we know he has a practical mind, which is always a bonus when it comes to financial advice.
He says that in ten years’ time he would like to have progressed to become a Financial Adviser within the team. His ambition to achieve this can only benefit our clients and his colleagues.
Mark says that he enjoys his life so much that if he had an opportunity to correct anything the only change he’d make would be to move to the Island sooner.

Rachael Bushby
Client Experience Manager
Rachael is our Client Experience Manager. She will ensure that your journey with Rouse Limited is as smooth and efficient as possible.
Rachael is very definitely a safe pair of hands when it comes to the care of our clients. With extensive experience in client-facing administrative roles, augmented by continual professional development training within the fields of health, safety and customer care, our clients can be sure they are at the heart of everything she does.
Prior to joining our team and having completed her BA Hons degree at Oxford Brookes University, Rachael spent eight years as a pensions officer for the IW Council. After that she joined her family’s hotel business in Shanklin and managed the reception and front of house team. So you can be sure of receiving five-star treatment.
Shanklin Chine is Rachael’s favourite place to unwind as it holds so many fond memories, as well as being a natural and historic place. Born in Shanklin, the Island is in her heart and she’s in the glorious position of being completely content with the life and family she has. Since balance and nurture is key to our work ethic, this can only benefit our team and clients alike.

Financial Adviser and Senior Paraplanner
Jon is a Financial Adviser and Senior Paraplanner. He supports the other advisers and Financial Planners in advising clients and helps with product and advice research and report writing.
In the evenings and at the weekend he can be found spending time with his family, following Spurs or watching movies (he’s a comedy buff).
Jon also loves to travel, with his longest trip being a summer inter-railing round Europe. Of the 11 countries he visited over three-months, he says it was Italy that had the greatest impact (although mostly for the food, he admits).

Rob is a Financial Adviser and Paraplanner. He supports the other advisers and Financial Planners in advising clients and helps with product and advice research and report writing.
He enjoys keeping himself fit and is a BSAC Sports Diver. Sports divers need to be focused, calm and have an ability to analyse a situation rapidly – all useful, transferable skills for his work day.
But even the most active person needs downtime and Rob chooses to spend his relaxing with his family and friends. His favourite place on the Island is Totland Bay – for the beach and sunsets.
Ambition is reflected in his dreams as well though, as in another life he says he would want to be a Premier League footballer.

Suzanne Rea
Account Administrator
Suzanne is an Account Administrator. She helps provide support to the Financial Advisers.
Suzanne is a seasoned administrator, having worked in administrative roles throughout her career, and holds an Admin, Secretarial and PA Diploma.
Prior to joining our team she held the post of Assistant Marina Manager, at Island Harbour Marina, for almost nine years. So we can add ‘determination and staying power’ to her list of assets. It’s a different kind of traffic management in financial services administration than that in a marina but we know her efficiency will keep everything ship-shape for us.
Although not from the Island originally, Suzanne has clearly found her home here as she seems content with where she is in life, both geographically and personally. When she isn’t working she enjoys spending time with her family as they explore the Island and all it has to offer. Suzanne sees the Island as something of an Aladdin’s Cave because each time they try to find a favourite spot they end up discovering somewhere new. Long may that voyage of discovery continue for Suzanne and her family.
Joshua Asher
Paraplanner
Joshua is a Paraplanner. He supports the advisers through research and report writing.
Joshua joins us having been the manager at Appley Manor Hotel here on the Isle of Wight. Having sharpened his plate-spinning skills as a manager in hospitality, he is more than equipped to juggle the varied days our paraplanning team faces.
However, his career to date hasn’t only been in the hotel business. He also has experience in the financial services sector, having worked at Lloyds Bank, where he was able to hone his attention to detail. The financial services sector feels like his natural home though and he is already working towards his Diploma in Financial Advice with the London Institute of Banking and Finance.
Another sporty type, apart from enjoying long walks with his dog, Joshua loves playing cricket through the summer and also takes advantage of living on an island by spending a lot of time on the water, paddle boarding. His favourite place on the Island is Priory Bay, not only for the excellent paddle boarding conditions it offers but also simply for its natural beauty. He clearly loves the water as he says in another life he would be living on a boat in the Caribbean.
Joshua says that in ten years’ time he sees himself as a fully qualified Financial Planner. Focused and determined, he says he enjoys working towards a specific goal, so we have no doubt he’ll achieve this – before he paddles off into the sunset.

Louisa Edwards
Account Administrator
Louisa is an Account Administrator. She helps provide support to the Financial Advisers.
Louisa is your first point of contact with the team at Rouse. She will be the one to greet you with her smiling face if you visit the office, or her friendly voice if you call. Although this is just one element of her role within our administrative team providing vital support to the Financial Advisers.
Louisa’s previous role was as a Trading Support Manager at Argos. The work there allowed her to develop transferable skills in organisation and attention to detail and she holds a Level 2 qualification in Business and Administration. She has a degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice Studies too, so her sense of fairness, and understanding of human behaviour, is also an asset to the team here.
Clearly Louisa is someone who cares about her work and values the learning process as she says that over the next ten years she hopes to continue to develop her skillset and to progress within financial services.
But she also values leisure time and says when not working she likes to spend time with her family and friends and taking long walks with her dog. Louisa’s favourite place on the Island is St Helen’s/Seagrove Bay because it’s so beautiful on a summer evening.
In another life she tells us she would be holidaying all over the world. Who knows – with her determination to succeed, that fantasy could become reality!
Harry Collier
Paraplanner
Harry is a Paraplanner. He supports the advisers through research and report writing within our paraplanning team.
Harry has worked within the finance sector for a few years, most recently gaining experience within financial services as a CeMap-qualified mortgage adviser at Countrywide. This client-facing role allowed him not only to hone his people skills but also his research techniques as he was required to provide recommendations on mortgages and protection to clients.
Prior to this he worked at GKN as a financial reporting assistant, following his achievement of a degree in Accounting and Finance.
Harry is a keen sportsman, which means he fits seamlessly into the Rouse team. He plays football and golf but his real passion is cricket. As well as representing the Isle of Wight’s senior cricket team when he can, he also manages the Marylebone Cricket Club’s tour of the Island each year. He says that in another life he really likes to think that he would have been a professional cricketer.
Harry’s favourite place on the Island is Gurnard as it’s near where he grew up. The beach and the green hold special summer memories for him and he’s lucky enough to still be able to enjoy kayaking, swimming and all the other delights a Gurnard summer has to offer.
Clearly a team player, and blessed with the determination of a sportsman, his goal at work is to be a fully qualified and established Financial Planner – with his aptitude and drive playing a key role in his development.

Samuel Wilcock
DipPFS
Paraplanner
Samuel is a Paraplanner. He supports the paraplanning team with research and report writing.
Having started his working life at Vestas, as a quality technician, we knew Samuel would be a good fit at Rouse: attention to detail and raising standards are key to our service offering.
Moving on to gain a year’s experience in financial services, Samuel hit the ground running and started studying for the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, ultimately achieving the qualification before joining the Rouse team. He is also a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).
Samuel is the proud father of a two-year-old daughter and he very much enjoys his family time as they explore the Island together. His favourite place is St Catherine’s Lighthouse – it holds a special place in his heart as it was where he met his partner. Having a small child though does mean that ‘spare time’ is currently elusive but when he does manage to carve some out he enjoys playing golf, reading, travelling and cycling.
Travelling appears to be a thread of joy in his thoughts too as in another life Samuel says he would be travelling to all the exotic places in the world, preferably in the style of James Bond. Back in the real world he is still aiming high and hopes in ten years’ time to have progressed to a senior level in financial services and be enjoying the rewards of his years of hard work.

Jordan Cook
Paraplanner
Jordan is a Paraplanner. He supports the advisers through research and report writing within our paraplanning team.
Having previously worked in accounting, Jordan has been in Financial Services for close to a decade. Before joining Rouse he was with Fidelity International. Showing determination to progress from the start, he began his career there in administration before becoming a Paraplanner, proving that, like all of us here, he is committed to continuous professional development. In fact, in ten years’ time he says he intends to be a qualified and experienced financial planner, having kept up to date with industry standards and qualifications.
In keeping with unofficial Rouse tradition, Jordan is keen on sports and activity and plays football for Cowes in the Wessex Premier League. This involves travelling across the southern region for matches and of course, regular training sessions. Not one for sitting still for long, the rest of any free time he has is spent with his family, enjoying walks with their dog. Jordan also enjoys cooking and says in another life he would be a chef. As he commented: Cook by name, cook by nature!
Jordan’s favourite place on the Island is the beach along the bay between Sandown and Shanklin as, not only is it a lovely beach, it holds special childhood memories for him. Having become a stepfather, and loving the new life and challenges it brings, he might well be creating new memories on the beach with his growing family.
