Wrap accounts
Wraps are an advanced filing system that help us manage your long-term financial investments. Using a wrap allows us – and you – to view your overall investments and to assess their progress as a whole through one wrap-platform provider.
They are single-administration access points for tax wrappers, such as ISAs, pensions, unsecured pensions, offshore and onshore bond accounts, as well as general savings and investment accounts, all of which might be with different underlying investment providers.
The wrap gives access to a wide range of funds and means we can also benefit from its collective buying power: this helps improve the value of your investments and positions them so as to optimise returns.
An example of one of the wrap platforms we have chosen to use is Nucleus, which we selected for its industry-recognised approach. Nucleus was launched in 2006 by a group of seven financial adviser firms, with the aim of putting advisers in control (rather than the fund managers and life companies). The aim was to have the freedom to create independent, low-cost investment solutions for all clients.
Nucleus is accessible online in the usual way, with Nucleus Go providing better online access to your investment portfolio.
The Nucleus Go iOS app is available to download from the Apple App Store (an Android version is in development). Launched by Nucleus to improve client communication, the functionality of Nucleus Go already allows you to view all your investments online and is fully mobile responsive, meaning you can view your portfolios whenever, and wherever, you like. The iOS Nucleus Go app takes this accessibility one step further.
It’s now even easier to access commonly requested information, such as money paid in, withdrawals, holdings, gains and losses, over any selected date range. The app also harnesses some of the features available in iOS to improve user experience. There are also a number of new features that are specific to the iOS app and differ slightly from the online Go website. Visit Nucleus to find out more.
