We're raising money for the Isle of Wight Branch of the MND Association
Community update
We always try to expand our support to cover different groups and charities, as well as continuing our support for others. As part of the Island community, both as a business and as individuals, we know we are in a position of privilege and so far this year we have been able to help a young equestrian, a few charities and some sporting initiatives.
IW Chamber of Commerce’s Lottery: Bronze Patron. We were keen to again support this initiative. Being a Bronze Patron means we are supporting the Island economy in general when local businesses, charities, and community groups secure funding through the lottery. Our additional commitment is that any winnings for Rouse Limited will always be returned to the lottery ‘pot’.
Sophia Peach. Sophia is a dedicated and talented 10-year-old equestrian whose commitment, passion, hard work and perseverance for the sport have led her to achieve several notable accomplishments at a young age. We consider her a future equestrian Olympian and have sponsored her for a second year to help her continue to train and compete.
Ad-mazing Creations Schools’ Competition: organised by Cherry Godfrey. We felt it important to sponsor this competition, to help encourage the creativity of young people on the Island.
IOW Sports Achievement Awards: recognising Island Sports Volunteers. While it’s important to recognise and encourage the sporting talent on the Island, we particularly wanted to recognise the importance of volunteers who give so much of their time to the development and management of sport.
Easter Eggs Appeal: in support of Daisy Chains. The charity supports Island families with children between birth and 18 years that suffer long-term health problems. We responded to their call for support of their annual Easter egg hunt.
RFU Injured Players Foundation. The Foundation provides support to players who sustain catastrophic injuries and helps prevent future injuries through research and education. We have a close association with grass roots rugby on the Island so it made sense for us to help their work with a donation.
Ventnor Cricket Club: 175th Anniversary. We recognise the benefit of team sports and the importance of supporting them from the ground up. We wanted to help celebrate this milestone moment of the Island’s oldest cricket club.
Schools Walk the Wight: Mountbatten Hospice. The independent hospice charity provides health and end of life care and bereavement support to anyone living on the Isle of Wight. It is important to us to continue supporting the vital work the hospice does and the services it provides.
MND Association: Isle of Wight Branch. Run entirely by volunteers, it aims to provide the best possible support to local people with MND, their families and carers. We have committed to providing three years’ of support, through donations, for this charity that is so close to our hearts.
IOW Armed Forces Day. We wanted to recognise the sacrifice that the armed forces family makes for us all so we wanted to do what we could to ensure this year’s event was successful by sponsoring the Medina Marching Band.
Cowes Cricket Club. Cowes CC is a local cricket club playing cup and friendly cricket. As another grass roots sports club that needs the help and support of the community, we made a donation towards the repairs of its roller.
Isle of Wight Agricultural Show: By sponsoring the members’ area at the County Show each year we are able to ensure the heart of the rural community here keeps beating. The success of the County Show means the Agricultural Society on the Island is able to continue to support and encourage young farmers through training bursaries.
